A recent heated personal conversation with a Financial Times Alphaville editor, FT’s new foray into online blogs, highlighted the often grey area operating over online public discussion forums and financial information dissemination. This discussion also highlighted some of the regulatory concerns that surround online financial discussions: issues such as accountability, transparency and openness. Where is the Grey Line? What does it mean to have editorial concern in an age of instant online communications and financial transactions?
